metro.co.uk(W,N) The Prime Minister’s lover, 31, allegedly had her request blocked when she applied to go to the country in the next few days.

She was barred from entering because she went to the East African country that is currently suffering from a civil war, according to the Daily Mail.

Her trip involved spending time with the country’s president Muse Bihi Abdi and they are believed to have discussed women’s issues and sea pollution.

While the UK has diplomatic relations with Somaliland since it split with Somalia, the US does not. When applying for visitor visas, also known as Estas, people are asked if they have been to Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen on or after March 1, 2011. If you have been to any of those countries then your Esta would likely be refused. She is due in the US as part of her job with Oceana, a US-based environmental group, the paper said. First he will visit Berlin to see German Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss Brexit-related issues over dinner. He will then head to Paris for meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron.

On Saturday, Mr Johnson will be at the G7 summit where he will meet other world leaders including US president Donald Trump.

US visa restrictions often deter UK nationals from travelling to Somaliland; and our citizens – both at home and abroad – face significant travel restrictions. This impacts freedom of movement, harms our economy and risks deterring investors.

‘We have a longstanding and positive relationship with the UK Government, and we have been proud to host members of the Government within the last 12 months, numerous Members of Parliament, and thousands of tourists from the UK every year.

‘We continue to call on the UK Government to support our calls for international recognition and to support Somaliland as we seek to overturn the damaging and unjustified travel restrictions unfairly imposed on our citizens by the US Government.’
