Why we wait until crisis strike?

Introduction:

“Whom Allah doth guide; he is on the right path; but whom Allah rejects from his guidance He deprives His mercy such are the people who lose Allah’s compassion”

With each step down wards they go lower and lower until they perish”

It seems that the Somaliland leadership lost the guidance of Allah because they chose to travel on the wrong path; however Allah’s mercy is always open for sincere repentance, but is Somaliland leadership ready for this? At least they did not show us that in any time during their tenure. In fact Somaliland is in political crises already. The difference is that it did not yet explode. It will if not wisely and intelligently addressed, but again who will do that? The worst in us is in action and the worst of us are running the show!

If we look back the history of former Somali Republic and to day’s Somaliland, we can recall what Dictator Siyad Barre did and said and what Deceptive Siilanyo did but did not expressed as Siyad did.

Siyad Barre said “when I leave, Somali Republic will not be there after me. It will vanish” True to what he said, Somali Republic vanished and Somalia was destroyed by inter-clan rivalry after Siyad was gone.

Siilanyo did not enunciated it  but what he did and what he is still doing to Somaliland amounted to what Siyad Barre said in his time and the result will be similar. Siilanyo acted instead of saying that “Somaliland is set to vanish when I leave.”

Like termites the foundations of the Republic were eaten away. The evil deeds were gradually put in place during the five years period the man was in power.

While these calamities were happening, the Somali people were silent and watching until all these wreckages occurred. Somaliland people do not have the luxury to be by standers, silent and passively watching when their county is going down the drain. The cost of inaction will be colossal Somaliland people better not pretend that it is OK! It is not OK!

Ina Reyaale of Somaliland silently said,” UDUB” the first political party in Somaliland will not be there when I leave” and he did it. ”UDUB” vanished.

Ina Ali Warabi said it and killed “UCID” Party for Kulmiye as a surrogate for Kulmiye Patrons!

What is happening in Somaliland these days is a piece meal dismantling of Somaliland which is with out a doubt a recipe for a civil strife which will in the end lead into a civil war God forbid. Scavengers are already hovering above and around the weakened and beaten up Somaliland. We see Turkey the benefactor of Mogadishu is fishing in the muddy waters in Somaliland. Of course others are doing the same in their own ways and means.

 All government institutions are dysfunctional

There is no functioning government it is not only illegitimate, it is missing in action

There is no functioning Parliament

There is no functioning Guurti. The Guurti Meta morphed in to (Guulwadayaal) goons.

There are no seriously functioning opposition parties.

Despite this sorrow state of Somaliland institutions, one of the opposition parties (UCID) was killed by the government. They used the party’s chairman to kill it and he did it!

This is the second national party killed by a President and a chairman

What is left of the opposition did not show that they are serious and that they are the real alternative of Siilanyo’s doomed policies. The opposition is dysfunctional as the government and the Parliament are.  Many people believe that the government Party-Kulmiye is simply betting to Rig the vote if and when elections are held and then declare victory. The Press was not only suppressed, they were persecuted and demeaned.

 Where there is no vision people vanish:

Where there is no “Taqwa” there is no conscience and where there is no vision, people vanish” I am afraid that if Somaliland is not there already it is heading to that direction!

A proverb says “By justice a king gives country stability.”

Those who are greedy for bribes and embezzlement of public funds and properties tear down a country. These kinds of people are running the government of Somaliland to day and the people are hopelessly and helplessly watching what is happening. They are not acting!

A democracy can not be advanced and a country cannot be developed and changed through use of (RU) force. Only the rule of law and respect of the rights of the citizens does the job. Only the Supremacy of the Constitution and a functioning House of the Representatives of the people can guarantee a stable, prosperous and a developed Somaliland and this is absent in to day’s Somaliland.

Under Siilanyo’s government Somaliland is divided and astray as ever

It took the unappreciated founders of this land to un-dug the lost 1^st Republic of Somaliland and got her out from the grave the 1960 so called politician put her. It took over 30 years to un-dug and liberate Somaliland once again with tears, blood and treasure.In the end the unappreciated founders brought her back home in 1991. They gave us a country and we are destroying that country. Similarly idiots like those of 60s are now digging for Somaliland a mass grave.

1- It seems that there are no moral bounds in the government of Mr. Siilanyo and the collection of the people running the government is doing so in the wrong way.

2- Corruption became part of the culture of the government and accepted as such!

The government is used as a machine and as a cash-cow for the governors while the governed is neglected and disregarded and thrown in the ditch!

3- The constitution is pushed a side and stands there just for name only, whereby the ruler runs the business of the government in his own way by Degree and has his own Malaysia (RU) as to cow the opposition

4-The government has not the intent, the trust, capacity and capability to hold fair and unfettered elections.  Any one thinking otherwise is simply delusional.
5- Tribalism has been generously nurtured until it grow to an uncontrollable level by Siilanyo’s administration

6- The country is divided and no one trusts the other, more so the government!

7-The integrity and the trust of the government are in the lowest margin ever!

8- The government is not even remorseful which means they are not ready for repentance of their mistakes, thus Somaliland is for sure in crisis already.

9- The two houses of parliament are not only disastrously dysfunctional but they are illegitimate as the executive is! The terms of offices of ALL branches of government are expired and not only that, they represent their belly and pocket and not only that, they morphed into agents of crisis! The representatives of the two houses are intellectually and morally questionable! They take their orders from the expired executive branch, the very branch of the government they are supposed to check

10- We believe that it is a matter of time when our army at the eastern front will disintegrate and disperse (God forbid) if Somaliland does not change the “no policy- policy” they peruse. Now they are talking of solders that left Somaliland military with their military gear and crossed to the other side of the border!

This unfortunate but anticipated incident may be the result of the following reasons:

1. a) Most of them are not relieved from their tour of duty for years and years! There is a fatigue problem there. There is a discipline problem as well
2. b) There general welfare was not sufficiently taken care of!
3. c) Too many and too contradictory orders are given to them by different people who see things in their own political spectrum and have no clue of the military situation, or even don’t care!
4. d) The kids stationed there are demoralized and feel mistreated and neglected!

The president is now operating in the long shadow casted by the president preceded him!

We never thought for a minute that it will come to this, but it did happen! Mr. Siilanyo glorified Mr. Riyaale for what he did and what he did not do for Somaliland for the time he was the head of the government in Somaliland!

Somaliland was united when Siilanyo took over. It is not united now! Corruption exceeded Riyaale’s time two fold and more!

They put Somaliland on top of an undermined sand cliff! Any shift of that sand (and it is shifting) will put Somaliland off the cliff! It is that serious!

Conclusion:
Somaliland is calling! Let us answer that call of conscience as we (some of us) did before. Answer that call, by exposing and illuminating the truth and then in that way save the bruised Mother. Answer the call of conscience before Somaliland is collapsed:

Chairman Suleiman told the Guurti “close your eyes and cover your ears so that you don’t see the angry populace and don’t hear what he called screams and noises coming from the international community” but Gaal and the government don’t see the volcano they are sitting on! Evil blockaded their faculties. It is just waiting to explode
In “Alancaam” Allah said, “Thus we have placed leaders in every town its wicked men to plot and burrow their in-But they only plot against their sole and they perceived not.”

In the light of the extremely critical situation Somaliland is in all political forces, the conscionable citizenry, civil society organizations houses of congress and the political parties despite their flaws must reconcile differences and collaborate and cooperate with the civil societies to defend and uphold the existence of Somaliland. Now the worst in us is working, the best in us must work instead if we want to rescue the home land.

Somaliland will seize to exist as we know it, if this fragile and already damaged democracy is further pushed over the cliff. The government created this grave situation and they are not ready to change their intent, conduct and behavior. We must not be a bystander in this grave situation.

National Front for Rescuing Somaliland (NFRS) must be established. Madasha, Somaliland Watch Group and other Reputable civil society organizations and the authentic cultural elders could be helpful in this endeavor as they have no political stake in this ugly political contest which is void of ‘ Taqwa’, moral fortitude and national conscience.
